About the conference

Lean education, across Europe since 2014.

The European Lean Educator Conference brings together educators, researchers and industry professionals who teach, coach and research Lean thinking. Each edition is hosted by a different European institution and gathers a community from academia, industry and the public sector to share what works in Lean education and practice.

The series began in Stuttgart in 2014, organised by CETPM at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences under Prof. Constantin May, building on the Lean Educator Conferences held in the United States. It has since been hosted by universities and research institutes across Europe, from Scandinavia to the Iberian Peninsula.

Editions typically combine keynote talks, parallel paper sessions and hands-on workshops — from Lean games and simulations to learning factories and industry visits. The audience deliberately mixes educators and Lean specialists from industry, so that teaching methods are tested against practice.

Peer-reviewed papers from most editions since 2019 have been published by Springer, in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology and Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering series.
